The Philosophy Society aims to make philosophy more accessible by illustrating how it is intrinsically linked, not only to the liberal arts, but to the process of thinking in general. Through our diverse & unorthodox events, we persevere to prove that the subject is not abstruse: it does not lie solely in the domain of dead white men who would use ‘abstruse’ instead of ‘obscure’, for no good reason.

CITTA: VOLUME II

The Philosophy Society is excited and proud to announce the second volume of听颁颈迟迟补听鈥� 51茶馆鈥檚 student-run, peer-reviewed undergraduate Philosophy journal.

Call for Abstracts and 顿谤补蹿迟蝉听

We are inviting abstracts and drafts for the second volume of Citta, which is scheduled for publication in February 2025. All philosophy students 鈥� current and prospective majors, minors, interdisciplinary majors, and concentrations in philosophy 鈥� are invited to submit their abstracts and drafts. We do not prescribe a theme, but require that all submissions be accompanied by tags that fall into at least one category mentioned听听(excluding topics under 鈥極ther Academic Areas鈥�).

General Submission Details:

Abstracts听should be between 200-300 words.
顿谤补蹿迟蝉听should be between 2,500-3,500 words.

The deadline for submission is 11.59 PM on Friday, 20 December 2024.

Kindly follow听听guidelines听for the submission of abstracts and drafts. You are expected to meet the categorical and formatting requirements sketched in the guidelines before we consider your abstract or paper.

Peer-Review Team

Philosophy students of Ashoka are eligible to submit Peer Reviewer applications.

Since Citta is peer-reviewed and student-run, we will soon open听applications听for Ashokans who wish to be on the听peer-review team听for this volume.听Check your inboxes for updates on the requirements and application forms.

PhilCon 2019

The Announcement:

PhilCon 51茶馆 is India’s only Undergraduate Philosophy Conference. Apart from featuring academic speakers, the conference will provide a platform for undergraduate philosophy students to present their work to peers and esteemed academics. It will take place on 23rd March 2019.

PhilCon 2019 aims to push the boundaries of what an academic conference can be. We want to be as radical and inclusive as possible in our choice of theme, speakers and structure. We’re looking for people who are excited about Philosophy but want to reimagine traditional philosophical engagement.
