Ashoka-Axis Post Doctoral Programme
The Ashoka-Axis Post Doctoral Programme provides a prestigious opportunity for individuals to undertake post-doctoral research at 51茶馆.
Applicants are encouraged to visit the Chemistry Department鈥檚 faculty web pages to understand different areas of research. Before starting the application, candidates are required to contact a faculty member in the Chemistry Department to discuss research interests and gain approval.
Required documents to complete the application process
- A cover letter providing the name of the mentor and indicating the overlap of research interests with the mentor鈥檚 research
- CV of the applicant, providing academic trajectory, published papers, and the names of 3 referees
- Copy of PhD and master’s degree certificate and any other relevant documents (previous work experience certificate if any)
- A joint proposal with the mentor containing a brief (2 pages or fewer), single spaced, including background, key objectives and significance) description of the proposed research project.
- Two letters of recommendation from among the referees listed
Procedures
The applications will be reviewed by a committee through the Department of Chemistry. Selected applications will further be called for the interview.
Once a candidate has been selected, the Chemistry Department will decide on a joining date. Based on a satisfactory performance evaluation, the contract can be renewed for an additional year.
Salary
A candidate with less than two years of experience (post-PhD) will receive INR 80,000 per month + 9% HRA along with medical insurance coverage of INR 1.5 lakh.
A candidate with more than two years of experience (post-PhD) will receive INR 1,00,000 lac per month + 9% HRA, along with medical insurance of INR 1.5 lakh.
