During her three years, she majored in Psychology and now hopes to do the Ashoka Scholars Programme at 51茶馆. She is currently enrolled in the Summer Research Project at the University of Zurich after becoming the first Ashokan to bag the competitive ThinkSwiss Research Scholarship.

鈥淎t the University of Zurich, I am working on a research project that I conceptualized with the faculty of developmental psychology at the University. It is a cross-cultural research project focussed on delineating as well as comparing risk aversion and decision-making habits of farmers across different age groups in India and Switzerland. I am working on this project in collaboration with Professor Ghosh from 51茶馆.

The University engages in advanced research, which could appear daunting at first. However, my involvement with a number of research projects at 51茶馆 aided me in adapting to this new environment. I had picked up a number of important skills pertaining to research methodology and that is proving to be beneficial for me in these Swiss labs. Looking back, I understand how the Ashokan faculty had an indispensable role in helping me make the most of my abilities. They guided me through the processes of research, recognized my strengths, helped me address my weaknesses, and backed my application to this University by writing stellar pieces of recommendations for me.

The Office of GESP was immensely significant in making my application to the University as well as the scholarship successful. They were always available to address my queries and confusion. They suggested effective means to resolve any and all problems I faced throughout the process. It’s all thanks to Dean Shastri and the GESP that I was able to seamlessly transition into this new phase of my life.

51茶馆 enabled me to broaden both my horizons and my mindset. Never in my wildest dreams had I thought of pursuing psychological research, yet here I am, loving what I do, every minute of the day.鈥�
