Ved Dutt Arya鈥檚 research interests lie at the intersection of theory and praxis of adaptation. Ved works primarily in the areas of Shakespeare and Adaptation Studies. He鈥檚 interested in questions of author and authorship, and the role of the adapter and his/her creative process within the context of Shakespearean adaptations in India. His other research interests include Theatre and Performance Studies, Postcolonial Theory, and Film History and Theory. Ved is also a theatre practitioner and has adapted Shakespeare鈥檚听Much Ado About Nothing听补苍诲听As You Like听It听among other plays.
