Advisor - Datla Human Immunome Lab
Professor of Microbiology and Immunology, Department of Microbiology and Immunology, Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, Columbia University, New York CityProf. Uttiya Basu completed his PhD in Molecular Biology from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, New York, followed by postdoctoral training in Immunology and Cancer Genetics at Harvard Medical School, Boston. His laboratory is interested in understanding genetic and epigenetic regulatory pathways that are required for the development of adaptive immunity. He is specifically focused on understanding how various non-coding DNA and RNA segments present in the mammalian genome define the development and differentiation of various immune cell subtypes present in tissue microenvironment. He is a NIH Director’s Innovator Awardee, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Fellow, Lymphoma Research Foundation fellow, Pershing Square Foundation Cancer Research Prize winner, Irvington CRI Fellow, elected fellow of the American Association of Advancement of Sciences, elected fellow of the Henry Kunkel Society Fellow and VAIBHAV awardee.
