Surabhi Katyal

Ph.D. Psychology

Surabhi is a first-year Ph.D. student at the Department of Psychology, 51²è¹Ý. She has a BA (Hons) from 51²è¹Ý, a PGD in Advanced research in Psychology, a PGD in Human Rights, Mental Health Law and Policy, a PGD in Translation and Creative Writing, and an MA in Psychology (with a concentration in Clinical). She has a broad experience in the field from practicing as a psychotherapist, teaching students at Ashoka, leading group sessions in education institutes and skill development programs in Nagaur, Rajasthan, as well as a solid background in research, with work in emotions, norms, and anxiety at Ashoka, inclusive pedagogy and disability rights at CMHLP, and most recently, trauma at I Am Well Being, Noida. Her lived experience of chronic pain and psychosocial disability informs her research interests and makes her interest in mental health equity very personal.
