Ph.D. Psychology
Suman is a Ph.D. scholar at the Department of Psychology, Batch 2025, 51²è¹Ý. She is a Psychologist based in Gurugram, Haryana, with expertise in counselling and mental health support across diverse communities. She has worked with organisations/projects such as the Dalit Queer Project, The Hans Foundation, and Manas Foundation, where she has provided therapeutic services and coordinated mental health programs.
A UGC-NET qualified professional, she holds an M.A. in Applied Psychology (Counselling) from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, and a B.A. (Hons) in Psychology from Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi University. Her professional training includes Queer Affirmative Counselling Practice and child-centric disaster risk reduction. Suman is passionate about inclusive, trauma-informed mental health care and has extensive experience in both clinical and community-based settings. She is particularly interested in exploring questions of social identity, mental health challenges faced by marginalised student communities in higher educational institutes, the experiences of psychotherapists working in juvenile homes, and the broader issues surrounding domestic violence.
