PhD Clinical Psychology; All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New DelhiDr Sneh Kapoor is a therapist and educator with over a decade of experience at the intersection of academia and mental healthcare. Her doctoral work in clinical psychology focused on developing a self-help-based intervention for obsessive-compulsive disorder to facilitate access for those unable to find mental healthcare within reach. In addition to her academic work, she runs Mann Neeti, a centre for mental healthcare and capacity building, with a focus on providing quality psychotherapy and counselling services as well as training early-career therapists in providing care within the context. As part of the centre, she also provides skill-based training for various organisations, including academic institutes, NGOs, corporates and government entities.
Dr Kapoor’s professional journey is marked by a commitment to mental health awareness, particularly emphasising education and sensitisation. She actively addresses the disparities in accessing mental healthcare, focusing on innovative outreach strategies and community-based campaigns for capacity building. Driven by her passion for inclusivity, she advocates for gender-sensitive and contextually-informed models of mental health and wellbeing. Her therapeutic philosophy centres around transdiagnostic work, prioritising systemic understanding over diagnostic labels, and fostering inclusive practices.
