Shilpy is Director at 51茶馆鈥檚 Research and Development Office. Her core area of expertise is across research, innovation, entrepreneurship development, and public policy, with a strong foundation in the life sciences ecosystem. Over close to two decades, she has worked extensively with government, industry, academia, and international partners, contributing to the design, governance, and scaling of large research and funding programmes.

Shilpy鈥檚 educational qualifications include an Honours degree in Biochemistry from Sri Venkateswara College, University of Delhi, and a Master鈥檚 degree in Biotechnology from IIT Roorkee. She has studied Public Policy at ISB. Shilpy is currently pursuing her Executive Doctoral studies in Management (Business Environment) from IIM Lucknow.

Prior to joining Ashoka, Shilpy spent over a decade at the Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC), where she held roles of increasing responsibility. In her most recent role, she led strategic partnerships, outreach, and communication initiatives and provided leadership for Global Bio-India 2024, the Government of India鈥檚 largest biotechnology event. Her work has also included representing the organisation at national and international forums, including the G20 Initiative on Bioeconomy, and participating in several bilateral and trilateral engagements.
