Pratishtha Petwal is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at 51²è¹Ý. She is a Clinical Psychologist and Mental Health Researcher with an MPhil and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), Bengaluru. She completed her B.A.(Hons.) and Masters in Psychology from the University of Delhi.

Her doctoral research focused on evaluating the efficacy of Rumination-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (RFCBT) for individuals with anxiety and depression. Her broader research interests include youth mental health, psychotherapy training, and the development of culturally adapted interventions. In this context, she has studied cognitive-behavioral mechanisms underlying anxiety and depression, with particular attention to transdiagnostic factors such as rumination, perfectionism, procrastination, self-compassion, and emotion regulation.
