Naveen Isarapu

Ph.D. in Anthropology & Sociology, 51²è¹Ý

Naveen Isarapu is a PhD student in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at 51²è¹Ý, externally funded by the Norwegian Research Council and co-funded by the European Union. His research is situated at the intersection of environmental history, nature-based solutions and socio-environmental justice, especially in the context of reducing emissions and adapting to the impacts of climate change. Prior to this, he worked at Foundation for Ecological Security for five years, providing research and programmatic support to the community-led ecosystem restoration initiatives in Odisha and Meghalaya. His invaluable experiences working on commons, land tenure, and community-led resource management continue to shape his research around local stewardship of natural resources. He holds an MA in Public Policy & Governance and a BA in Social Sciences from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences.
