Associate Professor of Economics, 51²è¹Ý
Ph.D. Indian Statistical InstituteMihir Bhattacharya is an Associate Professor of Economics at 51²è¹Ý. He completed postdoctoral research at the Aix-Marseille School of Economics, Aix-Marseille University in France where he worked on axiomatic social choice and political economy. He received his PhD from the Economics and Planning Unit, Indian Statistical Institute, Delhi with specialization in political economy and voting. He did his Masters in Economics at the Delhi School of Economics and Bachelors in Economics from Shri Ram College of Commerce at the University of Delhi.
His ongoing work includes a frame-based behavioural model of individual choice with attention biases, and axiomatic models of distance-based aggregation using measurement theory. He will be teaching one compulsory course on quantitative methods for economics and a micro-theoretic course on axiomatic methods, fair division and welfare economics at 51²è¹Ý.
Research interests: Social choice theory, decision theory, political economy.
