Ph.D. University of MarylandBikram Phookun, Dean, Academic Affairs and Professor in the Department of Physics, did his PhD in astronomy from the University of Maryland at College Park. He was on the faculty of St Stephen’s College, Delhi, for twenty-five years. He was, along with Prof Sabyasachi Bhattacharya, one of the founding members of the physics programme at Ashoka during his first tenure (2017-19) here. His academic interests lie primarily in undergraduate teaching.
