Assistant Professor, Computer Science
PhD,TU DresdenAshesh earned his PhD in Computer Science from TU Dresden, Germany, working exclusively in Florian Jug’s lab at Human Technopole, Milan, where he also stayed on as a postdoctoral fellow for a few months. He holds B.Tech+M.Tech degree in Computer Science and Engineering department, IIT Delhi, has 3+ years of industry experience, working as a Data Scientist in the FinTech domain, and 1+ year RA experience at the CSE department, NTU Taiwan, where he worked on Computer Vision problems.
His PhD research aimed to empower multi-colour fluorescence microscopy by solving the ill-posed problem of image unmixing: given a superimposed image containing k structure types, predict k separate images, each containing one structure type. With several first-author papers at top Computer Vision conferences and a biological journal, his PhD has provided a promising solution. His thesis earned a TU Dresden PhD prize (Georg Helm Prize) nomination. During his PhD, he received an €8,700 EMBO grant for a 3-month visit to ENS de Lyon and also received the Best Oral Presentation award at the 2024 HT Symposium.
