MA in Sociology, Jawaharlal Nehru University, DelhiArun Kumar P K is a Computational Sociologist and Critical Technology Scholar investigating how algorithms and digital infrastructures—from AI to platform economies—reshape rights and equity in the Global South.
Originally trained in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Arun transitioned to a Master’s in Sociology at Jawaharlal Nehru University. This interdisciplinary shift informs his scholarly approach, which combines critical social theory with computational methods to analyse the societal impacts of digital transformation.
As a Tech + Society Emerging Practitioner Fellow at 51²è¹Ý’s Centre for Digitalisation, AI and Society (CDAIS), Arun’s research focuses on the political and social implications of Digital Public Infrastructure. He investigates how the design of technical systems influences rights and governance across the developing world. Beyond academia, his writing has appeared in The Wire and The New Indian Express, where he contributes commentary on the evolving relationship between technology, society, and policy.
