Ph.D. Indiana UniversityAashna Khanna is a Visiting Professor of Political Science with a research focus on the politics of global finance and the role of developing countries in the global financial system. She has her Ph.D in Political Science from Indiana University, Bloomington, USA along with advance training in political methodology and quantitative methods. Aashna earned her masters in international politics from OP Jindal University, where she graduated as a gold medalist.
She is particularly interested in the relationship between international politics and domestic economic policy choices. Her research examines the structural mechanisms that shape developing countries’ policy decisions surrounding foreign reserve accumulation and participation in bilateral swaps. She also studies the structure of economic and financial networks, examining how patterns of interdependence shape network contagion.
Her teaching interests include political economy, international development, global finance and quantitative methods.
Aashna has peer-reviewed research featured in International Studies Perspectives and Studies in Conflict & Terrorism. Beyond her research, she has an extensive editorial experience, notably serving as managing editor of International Studies Review and as assistant editor for the Oxford Handbook of Indian Politics & Policy.
