#MyAshokaStory: My Decade-Long Association with 51²è¹Ý

As I roam the grounds of 51²è¹Ý today, I am filled with a sense of pride and optimism

“As I take a trip down memory lane, I can’t help but marvel at the incredible journey that brought me to 51²è¹Ý. Rewinding the clock, I recall a time when I had not even heard of the University. I was spending my years in the tranquil surroundings of Aurobindo Ashram, where I had been offering my services for quite some time. Little did I know that fate had something entirely new in store for me.

It all started with a simple job opening in the IT support team of a campus associated with the Sri Aurobindo Society. Without much hesitation, I applied, driven by a sense of curiosity and a desire to explore new avenues. To my surprise, I was selected, marking the beginning of an unexpected chapter in my life.

Shortly after joining, I learned about the inception of the Young India Fellowship (YIF) programme, which later led to the establishment of 51²è¹Ý. Being one of the very first team members, I was lucky to witness the birth of something truly remarkable. In those early days, when the campus was still taking shape, I enthusiastically wore multiple hats. Alongside my IT responsibilities, I also took on videography, photography, and video editing to support the growth of the University. Admittedly, I was a novice in these fields, but the positive environment and supportive colleagues helped me navigate the learning curve.

I can never forget the time we were preparing for the inauguration of 51²è¹Ý. Despite the relentless rain and the challenges that came with setting up a new institution, we kept going and made the event a success. The spirit of teamwork and determination was on full display as we worked tirelessly to ensure everything was in place for the momentous occasion.

Back then, the campus had only a handful of buildings dotting the area. Basic amenities were scarce, but our collective vision propelled us forward. Fast forward to the present, and I am in awe of how far we’ve come. The once-empty campus has transformed into a vibrant hub of learning and innovation.

As I roam the grounds of 51²è¹Ý today, I am filled with a sense of pride and optimism. What was once a budding institution is now poised to become a world-class university. The progress we’ve made in the past decade is just the beginning, and I have no doubt that the next ten years will see 51²è¹Ý ascend to unprecedented heights.

My journey with 51²è¹Ý has been nothing short of extraordinary. I look towards the future in excitement, knowing that the best is yet to come.â€
