Spinning Correlators in CFTs and SCFTs

  • This event has passed.

Abstract: In this talk, I will discuss my doctoral research on superconformal symmetry and its implications for correlation functions in superconformal field theories (SCFTs). The focus is on 3-point correlators of spinning operators, where symmetry considerations strongly constrain their structure. I will first review conformal and superconformal symmetries and explain how they restrict the form of correlation functions. I will then present the formalism we developed to construct superconformally-invariant 3-point structures, which are further classified by their parity. This construction led to novel Grassmann-valued invariants that vanish in the purely conformal case, thereby capturing genuinely supersymmetric effects. Conservation constraints were further imposed, yielding correlators of conserved supercurrents determined by a small set of coefficients. This framework has been completed for 3d N=2 and 4d N=1 SCFTs, and extended to higher supersymmetry in 3d (N=3,4).

About the Speaker: Aditya obtained his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Physics from the University of Delhi, with a specialization in the latter in high energy physics. Presently, he is working with Dr. Amin Nizami on correlation functions in a 3D $N=2$ superconformal field theory. His research interests include conformal field theory, superconformal field theory, supersymmetry, and the structure of general quantum field theories. He also aspires to study aspects of quantum gravity. Aditya was awarded the INSPIRE Scholarship, and currently he’s a recipient of CSIR’s Junior Research Fellowship.

We look forward to your active participation.
