Testamentary Capacity or “Did he know what he was doing when he signed his will?â€Â

  • This event has passed.

Abstract: The talk will discuss the cognitive requirements necessary to make a will (“testamentary capacity”) as well as the related concept of “undue influence”.  When the validity of a will is challenged in court, an expert witness, such as a psychologist or neurologist, is needed to testify whether the person who made the will had the capacity to do so.  The talk will discuss how expert witness work can be a component of one’s career. Case examples will be provided.
