Cyrus Khumukcham is a young researcher who completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s in English Literature from Delhi University. He also holds a Diploma in Radio Jockey, Anchoring and TV Journalism. His interests lie at the intersection of performance and culture. His new research supported by Zubaan Books, explores the portrayal of queer male homosexuals in Manipuri cinema, studying stereotypes enforced on queer individuals and how camp sensibility in queer comedy guides social responsibility in the midst of indigenous cultural gatekeeping. Cyrus enjoys spending time with his sister’s children and feeding them the many cuisines he cooks.  Cyrus is excited to engage in discussions driven by the multidisciplinary track. He is hopeful that the YIF will expand his academic possibilities.
